AND WHEREAS AS EDUCATORS, THEY INSPIRE A LIFELONG LOVE OF LEARNING, PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO SUCCEED IN AN EVER CHANGING WORLD. AND WHEREAS TEACHERS PLAY A VITAL ROLE IN SHAPING THE FUTURE BY FOSTERING CRITICAL THINKING, CREATIVITY AND PERSEVERANCE IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS, INNOVATORS AND CITIZENS. JUST INEXCUSABLE. OUR RESIDENTS EXPECT MORE FROM US. THE COUNCIL DECIDED LAST YEAR THAT TWO MEETINGS A MONTH WOULD BE HELD EACH YEAR, WITH THE ONLY EXCEPTION BEING DECEMBER, IN WHICH ONLY ONE MEETING WOULD BE HELD. YET ONE OF THOSE MEETINGS WERE WAS CANCELED, AGAIN WITHOUT ANY INPUT FROM OTHER COUNCIL MEMBERS. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A MOTION TO PREVENT THE CANCELLATION OF ANY REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING WITHOUT A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE ENTIRE COUNCIL, SO THAT WAS ONE OF A CONCERN FOR SEVERAL PEOPLE. SO I SAID TO THEM I WOULD READ IT SO EVERYBODY WILL KNOW WHAT WAS SAID. OKAY, SO OKAY, IF WE DID THAT, IF WE HAD TO HAVE A VOTE ON IT, WOULD WE HAVE TO HAVE A MEETING FOR IT? YES. YEAH. OKAY. SO WHEN THE CONTRACTOR WENT TO DO DO SOME FOLLOW UP, OUR INFRASTRUCTURE IS LACKING.

OVER ON PALM DRIVE, THERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SIX INCH MAIN THAT THE NEW MAIN COULD CONNECT TO. THERE'S NOT. THERE'S A TWO INCH GALVANIZED MAIN. THERE'S A FIRE HYDRANT ABOUT 200FT AWAY FROM THE CONNECTION POINT. AND THEN FROM THERE THERE'S A TWO INCH GALVANIZED MAIN THAT IS OBVIOUSLY INSUFFICIENT FOR FIRE FLOW, BUT IT'S ALSO OLD, AND WE'VE HAD TO REPAIR IT SINCE I'VE WORKED HERE. SO PART OF THIS PROPOSAL IS THAT THAT IS THE BIGGER PART OF THE PROPOSAL.

THAT WAS $24,700 FOR THAT. BUT WHAT THAT WILL DO IS WE HAD A DEAD END THERE ON PALM DRIVE. SO THAT WILL CREATE A LOOP. SO THAT WILL IMPROVE THE FLOW, BUT IT ALSO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE WATER. BECAUSE WHEN YOU ELIMINATE DEAD ENDS THE WATER IS ABLE TO MOVE THROUGH THE SYSTEM.

WE'RE ALSO GOING TO THEO ALL THE HOMES IN THAT AREA, SO THAT THEY'RE MUCH MORE EASILY ACCESSIBLE BECAUSE WE HAVE THREE HOUSES ON THE ONE SIDE THAT COME OFF OF ONE SERVICE. THAT IS NOT GOOD EITHER, BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE THAT ONE SERVICE FAILURE OF THREE HOMES THAT DON'T HAVE WATER. SO THAT'S PART OF ONE PART OF THE PROPOSAL. WE STAFF MET WITH WITH THE MARTIN COUNTY STAFF TO HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT THE USE OF TIME OR POWERS PARK. IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO REALLY GET TO KNOW THE MPO AND GET TO KNOW THE WORKINGS OF IT. SO THE MPO PAYS FOR THE REGISTRATION.
