WHEREAS THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA INCORPORATED IN FEBRUARY 1910 AND CHARTERED BY CONGRESS IN 1916, HAS A LEGACY OF PROVIDING AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR NOT ONLY BOYS BUT YOUNG ADULTS TO BUILD CHARACTER, TO TRAIN IN THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPATING LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOP FITNESS. WHEREAS THE NATIONAL FFA ORGANIZATION, FORMERLY KNOWN AS FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA, HAS EMPOWERED GENERATIONS OF YOUNG LEADERS SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1928 BY FOSTERING FOSTERING EXCELLENCE IN AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND CAREER READINESS. AND THEN WITH THE PUMP FAILURE THREE WEEKS AGO, WE HAD TO DO SOME OTHER ELECTRICAL WORK TO MAKE MAKE SOME MOVEMENTS BECAUSE OF THE SPARE PUMP THAT WE HAD. THAT IS 23,000, ALMOST $24,000 TO REPAIR THAT PUMP. PAT EXPLAIN TO THE PUMP WAS THREE YEARS OLD. YES. PART OF THE ISSUE IS THIS IS A PUMP THAT WAS PUT IN WHEN I FIRST GOT HERE. BUT WE WERE WORKING THESE PUMPS SO HARD ON A DAILY BASIS. THE IMPELLER. THE IMPELLER IS WHAT DRIVES THE WATER FROM THE PUMP INTO THE SYSTEM. THE IMPELLER SPUN RIGHT OFF THE SHAFT OF THE PUMP. THESE PUMPS ARE MEANT TO RUN AT 3500 RPMS MAX.

WE'RE RUNNING THEM AT 3000 EVERY DAY. WE TYPICALLY SWAP THE PUMPS SO WE'RE NOT RUNNING A PUMP 365 DAYS A YEAR. BUT WHAT WE DO IS WE SWAP THEM ONCE A WEEK SO THAT WE'RE NOT RUNNING THEM EVERY DAY. BUT UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN THEY DO RUN, THEY RUN 24 OVER SEVEN. AND THIS PUMP WAS INSTALLED THREE YEARS AGO RIGHT AFTER I GOT HERE. AND IT BASICALLY THE IMPELLER.

THANKFULLY IT DIDN'T DESTROY THE PUMP, BUT THE IMPELLER IS DESTROYED, SO WE HAVE TO FIX THAT. BUT THAT MEANS THAT THE PUMP NEXT TO IT, WHICH IS ALSO BEEN THERE FOR THREE YEARS, IS PROBABLY GOING TO FAIL BECAUSE THAT'S AGAIN WHAT I JUST SAID. THAT'S HOW THINGS THESE THINGS WORK. I MEAN, WE'VE MAINTAINED THESE PUMPS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITIES, BUT WE'RE WORKING THEM HARDER THAN THEY SHOULD BE WORKED. SO THAT'S WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO GET THIS SPARE, BECAUSE I KNOW IN MY GUT THAT THE OTHER ONE'S GOING TO GO. IS THERE AN OPTION TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE PUMP? IT MADE SENSE AT THE TIME, AND IT WAS PROBABLY THE LEAST EXPENSIVE OPTION. BUT WE'RE MOVING WATER AROUND ON THE PROPERTY BEFORE IT LEAVES. THE GOAL IS TO GET THE NEW HIGH SERVICE PUMPS OUTSIDE WITH THE GROUND STORAGE TANKS, AND THEN PULL THE WATER OUT OF THE GROUND STORAGE TANK. SO RIGHT NOW THE WATER COMES OUT THROUGH THE FILTERS, GOES OUT TO THE TANK, AND THEN BACK INTO THE BUILDING TO THE CLEAR WELL, AND THEN IT GOES INTO THE SYSTEM BECAUSE THE BUILDING WAS THERE BEFORE THE TANKS. GOTCHA. WHEN THEY PUT THE TANKS IN, THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE SOME PLUMBING TO MAKE SOME CHANGES, BUT IT WAS PROBABLY MORE EXPENSIVE. YEAH. THERE'S ALSO THE LOGISTICS OF HOW DO I SHUT A WATER LINE DOWN AND PUT A NEW ONE IN OR WHATEVER. IT'S NOT EASY, BUT IT'S DOABLE.
